About me

Hello! I’m Iris, a PhD candidate in Organizations and Management at the Yale School of Management.

I study status, inequality, social evaluation, and organizational design. My research examines whether organizational and market designs that appear neutral or democratizing actually level the playing field—or reproduce existing status hierarchies—and the mechanisms behind these outcomes.

My research is forthcoming in Management Science and Strategic Management Journal.

I hold a B.A. in Finance and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Peking University, and a master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Before entering academia, I spent four years as an equity investor covering small- and mid-cap companies in emerging markets.
